The new Brent Cross West Station will be just a few miles from Edgware and Signs have now been fitted throughout in anticipation of the first customers. It Forms part of a wider regeneration project for the area that is costing billions of pounds to complete and is set to be on the Midland Main Line that runs from Hendon to Cricklewood.
Once it opens for business, around eight trains an hour will be departing from the station during the peak travel periods of the day. Most of them will be delivering commuters to the heart of London and back.
The proposals were given the green light by Barnet Council three years ago and it was initially expected to open during 2022. A number of factors have seen the opening delayed, but it is on course to be ready this year. Print shops in Edgware can help supply it with timetables and other information materials if needed.
