A leisure centre located a few miles outside of Edgware could undergo big expansion works, after the local council opted to approve the outline redevelopment Plans.
These Plans would see the Finchley Lido Leisure Centre knocked down and replaced with a new and larger building.
This leisure centre first opened back in the mid-1990s, but Barnet Council ruled last year that it is no longer suitable for use by the general public. The project to create an expanded replacement centre is expected to cost around £45.7 million to complete.
The centre is situated at the Great North Leisure Park, and it has been agreed that the new one should be on the same spot. This was after people living in the area indicated during a public consultation that they were keen to keep it where it currently is.
At a recent meeting of Barnet Council, the outline business plan was given the nod. The council wants the revamped centre to be located close to the current one, on ground that was previously a bowling green.
Wherever the replacement centre is eventually built, promotional Pens are among the items that could come in handy for spreading the word, as they can be given away to visitors.
Among the proposed facilities at the expanded centre would be a gym, fitness studio and a swimming pool.Get a Free Quote for Pens Get a Free Quote for Plans
