Britannia House was constructed during the 1960s and is located in North Finchley, close to Edgware. It was formerly used as an office block but has been vacant for some time and is now set to be converted into 23 apartments, all of which will have their own balcony. This is part of a trend for turning offices into flats in the capital, to meet the need for housing.
While in some cases, this has created concerns that the new homes will not be large enough for people to live comfortably in, there are no such worries with this development as the planning committee confirmed that they meet the required size standards.
The meeting to decide whether to go ahead with the project was held on 14th May and ADA Architects, who designed it, were represented. New flats are often showcased using brochure printing services.
According to Times Series, David Alton from ADA said:
“It is worth mentioning the applicant has been instructed to re-clad the building to make it nicer to look at. All of the flats are within internal space standards.”
The council gave the project unanimous approval.
