The council will be collaborating with Apex Airspace on this development, which will provide the borough with 48 brand-new council homes. These are scheduled to be created by building on top of seven existing blocks, in an example of what is known as an ‘airspace’ housing development. It will be the first such partnership between a private developer and council in the Edgware area.
Alongside the new homes that will be built, the project also includes ideas for improving the amenities that are available for people living there, such as the public spaces. Brochure printing supplied by Edgware outlets can help developers show off new properties after they have been completed.
Speaking to Development Finance Today, Phillip O’Dell from the council stated that the development would provide new affordable housing options for people who most need them and that this was a council priority. He then went on to add that:
“We’re excited to be working with Apex Airspace on this new project, helping provide vital new affordable homes using modular construction.”
A date for work on the building of these new homes to get underway has not yet been made public.
