A new oven is set to be purchased by a school near Edgware, following a generous donation by a local charity.
The Edgware and Stanmore Rotary Club gifted Park High School the £300 cheque at a recent ceremony. Anna-Sophia Chapman and Danielle Benson from the club did the honours when it came to the presentation of the cheque to the school, and it will be used to acquire an oven for its pupils.
Park High School’s technology and design department intends to use this oven for cookery competitions, with children who attend the school already having enjoyed notable success in competitions of this kind in the past.
Only recently, Shaima Abduirahman, who is a pupil there, was the winner of the North West London round of the Young Chef contest organised by the Rotary Club. Now she will have better facilities available for competing in further events.
Two of the staff members from the technology and design department, Ms Attfield and Mr Lumley, attended the presentation ceremony to receive a plaque and donation from the club – which was founded back in 1930.
