The developer Parkside Investments is hoping to build this scheme, which it is calling The Rockery, on the spot currently occupied by a Crown Honda car showroom in Barnet. Its Plans for the site involve the creation of 470 flats – via a block 24 storeys in height – as well as storage and workspaces, shopping outlets, a café and an indoor space for use by the local community.
Under the terms of the proposals it has sent to Barnet Council, 35% of the housing in this development would be affordable homes. A Parkside Investments spokesperson has stated that the design of the project had been put together to fit the look of the area. Graphic design outlets in Edgware or nearby can often help housing developers at this stage of the process.
According to Times Series, this spokesperson went on to say:
“Our landscape-led approach will deliver a raft of benefits to the local area in order to complement existing and future residents in Colindale as well as neighbouring developments.”
The spokesperson added that the 165 affordable homes to be included were urgently needed. No word on when a decision will be made has been announced as yet.
