New homes planned for Edgware estate

A number of new homes are set to be built at an estate in Edgware, after the housing developer secured the necessary planning permission from Barnet Council.

The properties will be constructed by Barnet Homes, which is a company owned by the council, and the designs for them were created by RCKa. Those designs were produced after RCKa carried out a strategic review that looked into the issue of council-owned land intensification. The site that has been chosen for the construction of them is the Broadfields Estate in Edgware.

In total, 28 new homes are to be built there as blocks of flats, all of which will be affordable properties. A narrow strip of land within this estate will be used for the construction, with the rest of the area being made up houses that were built during or just after World War Two.

Housing developers often use local brochure printing shops when they need to showcase new homes they have available for sale or rent.

These homes will be a mix of one-bedroom and two-bedroom flats. A park that can be used by those living on the estate will also be created. Broadfields Estate can be found towards the north of Edgware.

RCKa is stating that the blocks will have a restrained appearance that enables them to blend with existing buildings in the area.
