The Plans were discussed by the Hendon planning committee at a meeting this month and were met with unanimous approval. They will see Menorah Foundation School, which is located on Abbots Road in Edgware, add a further floor that will provide it with more space for classrooms and help it meet the needs of children.
This new floor will be constructed over the main assembly hall and it will involve adding a flat roof above one of the school’s courtyards. Despite the additional space that will be created, the school is not planning to increase the number of pupils that it accepts.
This was the main concern of those who objected to the project, as they were worried that it would lead to parking issues. Schools often turn to Print shops in the local area to supply printed teaching materials.
According to Times Series, David Bloom from the board of governors said at the meeting:
“The new building will provide the classroom space we need, there will be some amenity space, such as a hall – and breakout rooms are becoming increasingly common and relevant to teaching methodology.”
