More than one hundred brand new homes are to be constructed at a site not far from Edgware, with the confirmation that Barnet Council has approved the Plans.
The planning committee for the council gave the green light to the proposals after the developer revised them. The delay was due to a disagreement about the number of affordable homes that should be included within the development. Moxon One initially submitted an application that would have been 35% affordable and that was approved by the council.
It then altered its plans to remove the affordable housing element, which led to Barnet Council rejecting the application. Eventually, a third version was produced that will involve the construction of 113 homes, of which 15% will be affordable social rent ones. This is the application that has secured final approval.
The chosen site for the development is at Moxon Street, High Barnet, just a few miles outside Edgware. Local housing developers sometimes turn to brochure printing outlets in Edgware when they are looking to show off new homes they have for sale or rent.
