Joan Cox spent more than 30 years as an employee of various mental health providers within the borough, having launched her career with Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH) back in the mid-1980s. Initially, she was a district nurse, providing care and advice to patients unable to leave their homes.
She said that it had been a marvellous experience and added that she had developed strong friendships with several of the other members of staff during her lengthy stint at BEH.
She started her training in the London Hospital, before moving to the borough one year after she qualified as a nurse, stating that she had witnessed numerous technological improvements throughout her working life.
District Nursing Service Area Manager Nihinlola Akinyemi told Times Series that Cox had maintained total dedication during her career, including the final few weeks before her retirement, adding:
“Joan has supported the team as we put together Plans to further improve our service to help us provide excellent patient care.”
Joan’s daughter Laura is due to begin work at an Edgware mental health unit this summer, and this kind of local service can always use Stationery printing to supply the official stationery it needs.
