Dr Jemma Hockley is aged 46 and runs an organisation called Strength and Learning through Horses (SLTH) that helps both young people and vulnerable children. It is located at stables in Edgware, but the existing lease that the charity has with the stables will come to an end at the start of next year. That will leave it looking for a replacement base in the same area.
Hockley and the woman that she started SLTH with - 36-year-old Rosie Bensley - need to find £150,000 in funding to pay for this and the equipment required for the therapy work.

Speaking to the Hertfordshire Mercury about the work the charity does, Hockley stated that many of the youngsters who attend are devoted to the sessions, before adding:
“If we can’t build these stables, our 10 horses will have nowhere to go and we will have to close our doors to those young people.”
