The Sujata Banerjee Dance Company defeated over 200 other entrants for this year’s Dance Proms, and will now have the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities to dance professionals and talent scouts.
Among those who will be attending the event this month are former dancer and judge on Strictly Come Dancing, Darcey Bussell, and the choreographers Arlene Philips and Matt Flint.
The Edgware team, made up of 13 members aged 10 to 19, will be the sole troupe performing classical Indian dance at the show, with the other 22 performing everything from street dance to ballet.
Speaking to Barnet Today, the founder of the company, Sujata Banerjee, said:
“We are proud and humbled to be selected in this special event.
“We are ready to put in hard work and commitment to show high quality Kathak and make this event an amazing experience for the audience.”
Those who wish to support the group will be able to rely on places offering banner printing in Edgware, to provide them with colourful Banners.
The company is registered as a charity and is dedicated to the promotion of music and dance from South Asia. They won a place in the Dance Proms by submitting an online dance video.Get a Free Quote for Banners
