Edgware could be one of the areas that participate in a project that is being called the ‘borough of fun’ and is designed to highlight the best parts about living in Barnet.
Barnet Council has announced that it Plans to provide grant funding to the tune of £120,000 to community groups in Edgware and other parts of the borough for this project. The idea is to finance ones that celebrate the diversity of the area and showcase all of the best parts about living in Barnet.
Bosses from the council have stated that events the entire community can attend are viewed as the best way to achieve these goals. It is hoping to spend one year working to get communities involved and building their capacity to host events, before launching the project.
Edgware Print shops that provide flyer printing can help with projects of this kind, by ensuring that events for local people are properly promoted throughout the borough, so attendances are high.
The choice of which proposed events receive funding through the scheme will be decided by a diverse panel of judges representative of the area.
The idea for the ‘borough of fun’ project was put forward during a recent meeting of the council committee for libraries and community leadership. This committee opted to give the idea its unanimous approval.
