Boutique in Edgware marks 50th anniversary

A boutique store that has been based in Edgware for the past 50 years is celebrating its anniversary this month, and the owner is showing no Signs of slowing down.

Karol Solomons launched Harpers Boutique back in April of 1972, and it has remained a family firm ever since. The clothes boutique is a fixture in the area and a popular choice among the fashion conscious of Edgware thanks to the mix of top brand outfits from both international and UK fashion houses that it stocks.

Despite now being 84 years old, Solomons continues to work in the store – which is situated within The Promenade on Hale Lane, Edgware – six days out of seven each week.

Solomons has been referred to within the industry as a pioneering force because of her work to spread awareness of fashion to suburban England. Logo Design outlets in Edgware can help longstanding local shops like this when they want to refresh their images.

The 50th anniversary celebrations for Harpers have seen a number of major figures get involved. These include the film star Jason Isaacs and former singer and pin-up Samantha Fox, while the raffle that was held recently was drawn by model Jilly Johnson.

Harpers supports a range of different charities in the UK, providing regular financial contributions to the Future Dreams breast cancer one and Alzheimer’s Research UK.
