Award win for holistic community centre

A local centre dedicated to community activities and holistic care has been confirmed as this year’s winner of the competition ‘In Edgware We Care,’ which is organised by the Broadwalk retail centre and Times Series.

The centre is called Shishhukunj Bhavan and is situated on Edgware High Street. It is focused on the promotion of holistic activities suitable for adults, children and the elderly. Its prize for winning this competition is £500 that can be spent within the Broadwalk Centre outlet Robert Dyas.

The public were asked to vote for their choices in the competition via Times Series, with 256 people opting for this centre. This represented over 50% of the total votes and the head fundraiser for the centre, Sonal Dave, collected the award.

The manager of the Broadwalk, Angela Brooks, told the Times Series that:

“We are delighted to have been able to present Sonal with this prize for the community centre. Situated in our very town, they host a number of fantastic activities for our local community – something we are very proud to support.”

This competition has now entered round five, with voting for this open until the end of the month.

Local community centres such as this one often rely on places that can supply newsletter printing, so that they can keep people up to date about their activities.
