Printing company from Coventry raises 4.5m

A Print technology company from Coventry has raised a whopping £4.5m from investors to help get its innovative solutions to market.

Lumejet is the company behind a new technology which aims to deliver the best ever quality digital printing. Coventry-based Lumejet has been developing its technology for the last 12 years to perfect it. Dr. Trevor Elworthy, a former research scientist for Kodak, led the project.

The company hopes to make this available to purchase by summer 2013.

High quality digital printing can be used to produce a number of different types of documents, from Posters and leaflets to Business Cards and Stationery. Many Print companies in Coventry use digital printing to produce work for their clients, so any improvements to digital printing technology would benefit both the printer and the customer.

Thanks to the investment that Lumejet has secured, the company has been able to forecast rapid growth over the coming years and it even hopes to contribute to the UK economy by creating 100 new jobs by 2014. The company predicts that, over five years, it will receive orders for over 1000 of its printing machines to be shipped out.

CEO of Lumejet, Paul Anson, recently spoke about the company, saying:

"Attracting investment to High Value Manufacturing propositions can be difficult, but our new and existing Angel investors see potential of the LumeJet technology.”

He added that the investment has allowed the company to develop the new digital printing system, which he believes could well change the market for a number of sectors.
