Housing scheme in Coventry gets go ahead

Plans for the development of a new housing scheme in a suburb of Coventry will be going ahead after city council planners voted to approve them.

These Plans were submitted by Citizen Housing Group and they will lead to a total of 63 new homes being constructed. The site that has been chosen for the project is in the Wyken district of Coventry, close to Attoxhall Road. The completed homes will replace two multi-storey tower blocks called William Malcolm House and Vincent Wyles House. The latter has already been knocked down and the former will follow soon.

The homes will be divided between flats and houses, with 24 flats and 39 houses. Citizen intends to preserve as many of the trees that surround the site as possible. It will also create additional green spaces and public amenities as part of the project.

When property developers are submitting documents to the local council, they need them to look as professional as possible. Coventry is home to shops that create Letterheads to help with that.

This development has been designed by Baily Garner. According to the Coventry Telegraph, its design statement said:

“The regeneration project involves consultation with the local community to ensure the new development meets residents’ needs and preferences.”

When construction is finished, the homes will all be social rent properties. A start date is yet to be announced.
