A historic pub in Coventry could be set to gain a new lease of life, if Plans for it are approved by the council.
The Old Ball is a pub situated on Walsgrave Road, in the Ball Hill section. It was originally built all the way back in the 1800s and is said to be the reason why this area of the city is called Ball Hill. However, the pub closed down over a year ago and the building has been empty since then. Now, plans are afoot to bring it back to life.
Should Coventry City Council decide to approve those plans, it would remain a pub. The new venue would be a lot different though, as it would combine drinks and food. It would also feature both recorded and live music. The proposed name for the new pub is Big Boys Bar and Restaurant.

The menu for Big Boys Bar and Restaurant would be a mix of traditional UK meals and authentic Indian cuisine. What individual or company is behind the application is not clear at the moment though.
There is also no information available as yet about what changes might be made to the actual building.
