International comedy to come to Coventry

An arts hub in Coventry is set to welcome an acclaimed comedian from India to the stage this winter.

Fans of comedy from the local area can soon see the multi-talented Vir Das in person when he performs at Warwick University this December. In a single night’s show, the comedian, actor and columnist will perform at the university’s Warwick Arts Centre, presenting his unique brand of stand-up.

Venues showcasing comic talent often count on specialist flyer printing services to produce engaging advertisements that encourage ticket sales for performances.

Commenting on Das, the New York Times stated:
“No artist embodies the globalization of stand-up like Vir Das.”

Such accolades have seen the comic described as one of the 21st century’s most loved global voices in comedy. Born in India in 1979, Das has enjoyed success both as a stand-up comedian and as a supporting actor in Hindi cinema, appearing in films like “Go Goa Gone”, “Badmaash Company” and “Delhi Belly”. In 2017, he reached a wider audience through a special on streaming giant Netflix entitled “Abroad Understanding”.

His most recent Netflix special premiered last December. Entitled “Landing”, it drew universal praise from both fans and critics.

Vir Das will perform at Warwick Arts Centre on Saturday, December 9. The centre is based at the University of Warwick in Coventry, and the show will start at 7pm, ending at 11pm.
