A derelict former pub building in Coventry is scheduled to be knocked down, so that a number of new homes and a shop can be built at the site, after planning permission was granted.
This building is located in Princethorpe Way, Coventry, and used to house The Bear and Staff pub. However, that venue closed its doors for good eight years ago, and has been sitting vacant ever since then.
During that period, both the interior and the exterior of the building have fallen into a poor state of repair.
Now, it is set to be demolished, and will be replaced by a building that contains flats as well as a convenience outlet. The exact number of flats that will be created has not yet been revealed, but more details about the shop have been announced.
The application indicates that it will be open each day between 6.30am and 11.30pm, and that it will provide full-time jobs for 15 people.
