What's Happening in Coventry, England…

CUE Business Solutions is hosting a free one-day workshop on public relations in Coventry later this month.

This will provide an opportunity to find out how to develop a communications strategy, acquire a better understanding of journalism, including press releases, PR campaigns, social media and communications crisis management. It should be of use in helping businesses to identify and reach out to their target audiences as well as in fostering good inter-personal skills and positive media relations.

The workshop is primarily aimed at start-ups wanting to avoid a huge expenditure on specialised marketing and expensive PR advisers. It involves a DIY approach, focused on cutting costs while still actively engaging in effective marketing.

Attendance is free subject to the eligibility criteria. For a pre-start business, participants must have an original technology-based business idea which is not yet up and running. They must also be a resident in the Warwickshire area. For new businesses participants should have an original technology-based business idea registered with Companies House or HMRC in the last 12 months and are Warwickshire-based.

CUE Business Solutions is a constituent part of the Coventry University Group. Poster printing is a good way of advertising this type of event.

The Free PR workshop will take place, between 9:30am and 6pm, on Thursday 29 August at the Serious Games Institute (1st Floor) on Puma Way in Coventry.
