Coventry welcomes comedy performance

April in Paris, presented by Limelight Productions, is due to visit Coventry this year.

This classic comedy tells the story of an average couple as they embark on a once in a lifetime journey, and a similar journey in their relationship. The audience follows them along the way as they discover that it sometimes requires a trip abroad to find out what really matters in life.

The story follows Bet and Al, who are stuck in the doldrums. Their sparkling conversations, after 26 years of marriage, have dried up. With fewer hours for her at the shoe shop and him in the building trade, there is not much to be optimistic about. However, Bet dreams of walking with Egyptian Pharaohs and sunbathing on beaches, inspired by competitions in holiday magazines. Finally, she wins one night for two in Paris in April. Will this short vacation the city of romance reinvigorate both their lives and their relationship?

Written by John Godber and directed by Richard Lewis, it stars Joe Pasquale as Al and Sarah Earnshaw as Bet. Ticket prices start at £30 and the running time is an hour and 10 minutes. This event is Covid compliant. Graphic design often makes an important contribution to theatrical productions like this.

April in Paris will take place in March, starting at 7pm on Thursday 4th, Friday 5th and Saturday 6th. There will also be a 2pm performance on Saturday 6th. It will be performed at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry.
