Coventry welcomes best-selling author

Lee Child, the author of the Jack Reacher series, will be paying a visit to Coventry towards the end of April.

Born in the city, Child is returning, prior to his impending retirement, to fulfil one of a few final engagements. The best-selling writer will be in conversation with his authorised biographer, Dr Heather Martin, followed by a question-and-answer session.

Child's official biography is entitled “The Reacher Guy”. It paints a picture of a young artist, viewed through the lens of his iconic fictional avatar, who reinvents himself, eventually coming to sell 100 million-plus Books in 40 languages.

To write the biography, Martin talked to friends, colleagues, teachers and agents. She also conversed with the author in person, took readings from his work and conducted archival research. It uncovers the man and traces his family origins from Northern Ireland to County Durham, following a unique career via the “Big Apple” to Hollywood, up until the present.

There will be, on the evening, exclusively pre-signed editions available, and afterwards, those in attendance can meet, chat and take photos with Child.

Tickets cost between £7 and £22. The organisers and Little Brown Books will be offering a free memento of the occasion to those in attendance. Poster printing can be a useful way of publicising forthcoming events like this.

Lee Child, The Reacher Guy will take place between 6.30pm and 9pm on Tuesday, 20th April at Coventry Cathedral, Coventry.
