Called ‘Coventry City Centre South’, this project had been put on hold during 2023 after the costs went up due to the new Building Safety Act and changes to other construction regulations. Now, the West Midlands Combined Authority has provided a further £12 million in financing to ensure that work on it can start.
The project will involve new housing, as well as leisure and retail improvements.
More than 1,500 homes are scheduled to be built in the chosen area as part of the project, and they will be accompanied by new shops and facilities for entertainment. Following the delay due to fire safety rule changes, the Plans underwent a redesign, and were submitted to the council at the end of 2023.

West Midlands Mayor Andy Street told the Coventry Telegraph that:
“This is an exciting time for Coventry, as this brownfield redevelopment represents a landmark investment and significant redevelopment opportunity – the likes of which this city has not seen for decades.”
Work is set to begin later this year.Get a Free Quote for Graphic Design Services Get a Free Quote for Plans
