64 jobs saved at printing company in Coventry

A Print company based near Coventry that was at risk of closure has been saved by a deal with a Belgian printing company. Litho, a Print company based in Breaston, Derbyshire, has been acquired by Belgian-based Agfa, a digital printing company.

This deal will see Litho continue to trade under its own name and will also allow the company to continue to trade its current wares with its current portfolio of suppliers.

One of the best pieces of news for local people is that the 64 staff employed by Litho will keep their jobs at the printing company. Coventry and the surrounding area has been hit hard by the recent economic downturn and recession so any news of investment in local companies is welcomed as being comforting and positive to the people who live and work in the region.

Rather than offer commercial printing, Litho supplies Print consumables such as ink, printing equipment and services to local and national clients who offer services such as poster printing, business card printing and brochure printing. The Coventry region is home to a number of local businesses who rely on Litho as a Print supplier so the fact that they will continue to trade, even after the take-over from Agfa, is fantastic news as it means no disruption to their daily work and therefore no disruption to the lives of the people they serve.

This investment in a Coventry-based business also shows faith in the economic stability and growth of the region as a whole which is viewed as being a real positive by both local authorities and local businesses.
