Mini golf attraction planned for Clapham
A brand new mini golf putting attraction could be built in Clapham, with the company behind it having submitted plans to Lambeth Council for approval.
Putt in the Park is a London-based firm specialising in mini golf courses, and it is hoping to build one on part of Clapham Common, at a site currently occupied by bowling greens. The company has submitted these plans to the council and is seeking to secure a lease that would last 15 years, enabling it to create both this attraction and a café there.
It already operates similar cafes and mini golf courses at two other spots in London and is arguing that it would provide jobs for local people, as well as helping to draw more visitors to the chosen section of the common. Poster printing from Clapham outlets can be useful in promoting local attractions to residents.
The plans have the support of many people living in Clapham, on the grounds that it would provide the area with another entertainment option for families. They also argue that the jobs that it would create, in addition to the money that both the course and the café would bring in from visitors, would be a welcome boost to the economy of the area following the pandemic.
No word on when a decision will be made has yet been announced.
