The street in question is Northcote Road, which is close to Clapham Junction. It is a much-used street that is full of pubs, cafes and restaurants, so this plan will enable customers to sit outside in the sunshine.
Northcote Road has been closed to traffic for the duration of summer before, with the plan first being implemented back in 2020. Then, it was to help hospitality venues during the lockdowns, but it was abandoned three years ago.
Now, Wandsworth Council has announced its return, and it could prove to be a popular move. A petition that was created calling for it to be brought back was signed by more than 5,000 people living in the area.
Poster printing by shops in Clapham can help the local authority when it wants to let people know about temporary schemes. Putting up Posters with the necessary information can ensure everyone hears about them.
Tom Pridham from Wandsworth Council told My London News that the street is an informal community hub, adding:
“We are delighted to bring back the weekend pedestrianisation over the summer, supporting local businesses while once again transforming Northcote Road into a destination for both residents and visitors.”
The scheme will run between 11 July and 30 August.Get a Free Quote for Posters
