Designs revealed for regeneration project near Clapham

Brand new designs have been revealed for the next stage of an ambitious regeneration project near Clapham.

This project centres on the iconic Battersea Power Station, just a couple of miles away from Clapham. A masterplan for bringing this beloved building into the future was created over a decade and a half ago, but now it has undergone revisions. The architects responsible for envisioning the project’s second stage are Studio Egret West, and they have released images that outline their ideas.

What those images show is a mixed development that would include leisure, commercial and residential spaces. When new commercial outlets first open in the area, they need to be promoted. Flyer printing by Clapham shops is one option for doing that.

Battersea Power Station Development Company and Studio Egret West held a consultation with local people earlier this year and have incorporated their feedback into the designs. David West from Studio Egret West told My London News:

“The revised master-plan builds on the success of the first half of the Battersea Power Station story, creating opportunities for more homes, workplaces, retail and leisure including a new hybrid cultural venue.”

That venue would be called the Third Generator and would be used for live creative, sports, fashion and educational events.

Battersea Power Station Development Company has now submitted a planning application for the project to Wandsworth Council.
