One of the main theatres in Clapham will present a brand new show for spring, in the shape of a play that is already earning critical plaudits.
The Comfort Woman will be the next big play at the Omnibus Theatre, courtesy of Gaia House Productions. This play is the work of Minjeong Kim, who also takes on the leading role. It tells the tale of a young South Korean woman called Minja who is kidnapped from her remote rural home.
This play was previously performed at two other venues during 2024, where it was greeted with critical acclaim. However, the new production in Clapham features a revised and expanded version, as well as fresh accompaniment. This will come from a Gayageum, which is an instrument central to traditional Korean music.
When they need to advertise their upcoming shows, local theatres like this one sometimes use the services of Clapham Print shops that supply poster printing. Attractive promotional Posters are a reliable way of drumming up interest.
The narrative of The Comfort Woman is one drawn from many real stories. Kim has described the work – which is her first-ever play – as a way of honouring South Korean women who suffered such experiences.
The play will be running at the Omnibus Theatre in Clapham between Tuesday, 3 and Saturday, 7 March.Get a Free Quote for Posters Get a Free Quote for Print
