Fringe Festival returning to Clapham this year
Popular theatrical event the Clapham Fringe Festival will be taking place in the area again this year, and anyone who attends will be able to experience an exciting and varied programme of performances.
This annual event is organised by the Bread & Roses Theatre in Clapham and it hosts performances that range from experimental theatre to stand-up comedy. The aim is to mix shows that are pure entertainment with more risky and thought-provoking ones, thereby providing something to suit people of all different tastes.
Among the most hotly anticipated events that will feature at the 2022 festival are The Platform, which sees the official theatrical company for the Bread & Roses Theatre provide a space for new writers and performers. A play that emerged from the theatre’s Writers’ Circle, BoyBi, written by Evan Reynolds, will also get its first performance during this year’s festival.
Elsewhere, a gory absurdist play called Butchered will appeal to those with strong stomachs, while there will be plenty of comedy shows for people who prefer something lighter.
Poster printing that is provided by specialist outlets in Clapham can help those putting together cultural events like this one to advertise them in the local area.
The theatre’s Artistic Director Velenzia Spearpoint said that they were thrilled at the prospect of this year’s festival. It will run between 22nd September and 9th October.
