Eerie tale to haunt Clapham venue this Halloween
Residents of Clapham are set to have the chance to experience some spinetingling entertainment this Halloween, as a stage show inspired by an account of a haunted house comes to town.
The Battersea Poltergeist depicts the story of a family that believed they were haunted by a ghost and was originally told as a podcast on the BBC. It proved to be a smash hit with fans of phantasms, drawing listeners in the millions, and now it has been adapted into a stage show that will be performed at the Clapham Grand.
Poster printing supplied by outlets in Clapham can be helpful to local venues when they are looking to advertise upcoming shows such as this.
This story is set in Wycliffe Road, at the home of a family called Hitchens. It details the 12-year period from 1956 to 1968 when their home was supposedly haunted by a poltergeist to whom they gave the distinctly non-scary name of Donald.
Beginning with the discovery by Shirley Hitchens of a strange silver key on a pillow when she was 15, the family went on to experience fires, inexplicable noises and flying objects within their home. At one point, it led to a House of Commons discussion and a BBC show attempting to ‘talk’ to Donald.
The Battersea Poltergeist - Live will play in Clapham on the appropriately spooky date of October 31.
