Clapham to host Friends festival
This summer could not be any more exciting for London-based fans of the hit 1990s sitcom Friends, with the news that Clapham will be hosting a festival dedicated to it.
On top of the recent release of “Friends: The Reunion”, they will now have the opportunity to wallow in all things Central Perk, including wandering through the set of that famous coffee shop and those of the flats the characters lived in – taking snapshots of themselves standing where Chandler, Joey, Rachel, Monica, Ross and Phoebe once stood. In addition to that, they can also relive the celebrated title sequence for the show, playing the characters themselves.
The chosen venue for this festival of Friends is Clapham Common and it marks another return to normality for the capital following the year-long Covid-19 pandemic. Festivals with a narrow focus like this one often have themed promotional products on sale to help attract more people to them.
Luna Ventures is the organiser of the festival, which has been running for six years now. In previous years, it took place in Kennington Park and Haggerston Park, but Luna managing director George Wood told My London that he was exciting to bring it to Clapham:
The festival will be in Clapham from June 25 to July 11.

“We know exactly who the demographic is and how the event works. We feel very comfortable that it lends itself perfectly to a site like Clapham Common.”
