Clapham festival organisers create al fresco cinema
The people responsible for creating a popular annual festival in Clapham have come up with a new wheeze for film fans frustrated by Covid-19 – an al fresco cinema with social distancing.
The Free Range Film Club has been devised by the team who came up with the Winterville Festival that takes place each year on Clapham Common. It will be visiting green spaces and parks in London over a two-month period and will see movie lovers sit outside at a safe distance from one another as films are shown on the big screen.
Actual venues for the screenings have yet to be announced, but the organisers promise that they will be coming to all parts of the capital and will be within easy walking or cycling distance. Furthermore, in addition to watching movies beneath the stars, those who go along will be able to enjoy drinks, barbecues and street food.
Flyer printing provided by local print shops is one way that events like this can be promoted, as with some lockdown restrictions being eased, people are back on the streets to be targeted with promotional flyers.
Details about which films are set to be shown are being kept under wraps just now, but indie movies, feel-good favourites and cult classic titles will all be among them. It will take place from July to September.
