Print gets a boost in Yorkshire and Derbyshire

Unemployed members of the community in Sheffield are due to receive help getting work in the printing industry thanks to a sizeable charity donation.

The Prince's Trust has received a donation of £15,000 from The Printing Charity to help young people secure employment in the printing industry and related fields, whether this is journalism or working for a printing company in the Chesterfield or Sheffield regions.

The Prince's Trust is a charity that does a variety of work with people across the UK and has recently been working specifically with young people in Yorkshire who are currently out of work. The Printing Charity has expressed its wish that its donation is used to help unemployed people get ready to return to work. It will do this by providing them with training that gives them transferable skills for use in the workplace, as well as to help them to become more attractive to potential employers.

Whilst the funds are earmarked for Sheffield locals, many people in nearby areas like Brampton and Chesterfield could benefit from the work that The Printing Charity does. Local printing shops in Chesterfield offer a number of services to local businesses and organisations such as poster and flyer printing and anyone who has skills in these areas may be employable by local Print companies.

Stephen Gilbert, Chief Executive for The Printing Charity recently spoke about their donation to The Prince's Trust, saying:

"With so many young people out of work at the moment, we wanted to do something to help. Yorkshire has historically had strong links to the printing trade so it’s an appropriate area for us to donate this money."
