Chesterfield Children’s Festival is the ideal summer day out for families. It has become a fixture in the town and is put together by the Junction Arts charity. This year’s festival will be the fourth and it will have a brand-new headline sponsor. Kip McGrath Chesterfield West will be taking on the role for 2026 and is also contributing to the activities.
This organisation has provided funding to the tune of £1,000 that will be used to set up a crafting tent. It will offer drop-in events and workshops across both days. They will include classes in creating football tops, pottery, badge-making and cyanotype printing.

Kip McGrath Chesterfield West is a community organisation that supplies specialist teaching for children of primary and secondary school age. Its director Lorna Bell told the Derbyshire Times:
“When we visited the festival last year, we were blown away by the variety of activities and the fact that everything was completely free for families. We knew straight away that we wanted to be involved in supporting something so special for our community.”
