Made in Chesterfield is being put together by Destination Chesterfield. That organisation has the backing of Chesterfield College and students at this facility will be key beneficiaries of it. The programme will run for one month and will highlight the many innovative manufacturing companies that the town has to offer. It will also let young people learn more about them, so they can see if it is a career path they would be interested in.
The first activity in the programme is the Innovation Challenge. This will require students at the college to collaborate with firms on manufacturing projects. They will learn cutting-edge techniques and master new skills. At the end of it, their ideas will be demonstrated at a special showcase.
