A shop based in the city has collected outdoor gear for a local charity for a period of a month as part of the Gift Your Gear drive, the overarching aim of which the is to make it easier for people to participate in outdoor activities.
Some of the items that have been donated to the cause apparently have interesting histories connected with them.
The Rohan chain of stores has engaged in this charitable activity before. On the national level, it once gathered in about 7,000 garments. However, this year the chain has exceeded this total with a degree of ease.
Nationwide, the campaign has managed to collect in excess of 9,000 items. This figure has been connected with an increase of about 25 per cent.
If Rohan Bath wants to repeat the process in the years to come, then additional publicity may be useful. Local organisers could opt to use poster printing in Bath to achieve this end.
According to Roger Cann, the managing director of Rohan, nearly 60 shops were involved in the effort this year.
Claire Bryant, the manager of Rohan Bath, has stated that:
“We’ve been encouraging people to bring any unwanted, but usable, outdoor trousers, jackets and fleeces into the shop.”
