Bath Fashion Museum ranked among the city’s most popular sites for tourists until its closure three years ago. The museum used to be housed within the Assembly Rooms, but was forced to move out after the National Trust chose to reoccupy that building. Since then, its considerable collection has been in storage, but now it will be given a new home using a National Lottery grant of £7.2 million.
The money will enable Bath and North East Somerset Council to convert a building in New Bond Street. This is another of the city’s historic structures and was formerly a post office. It has Grade II listed status, but is empty at the moment.

Kevin Guy is the leader of Bath and North East Somerset Council. Speaking to Somerset Live, he said:
