Poundland to feature in a new retail park in Bath

Poundland will be one of a trio of units inside a small retail park within Bath.

The store will be joined by two other enterprises in the retail park. The discount outlet will be alongside Pets at Home. However, the identity of the business which will occupy the third unit remains a mystery. When the organisations are fully up and running in their new surroundings, they may require the services of a Print company in Bath.

A spokesperson for Poundland told the Bath Chronicle:

“The stringent acquisition process ensures the new stores are positioned in the right location and fit Poundland's customer profile. Due to the popularity of Poundland's product ranges, the organisation is keen not to raise anticipation for a new store before Plans are finalised.”

As a result of Poundland’s stance, information about its new store is restricted. However, it has been reported that the company will retain its shop in Westgate Street.

The development is situated on Lower Bristol Road. The shops there may gain customers from the inclusion of a Costa Coffee outlet on the site. In the past, a factory for Herman Miller occupied the location.

Almost 50 jobs could be created by the scheme. Local council officials will have to give their consent for the whole initiative to go ahead. However, construction has already started on the eastern section of the area concerned.
