The event titled “Horrible Histories Live – Horrible Christmas” will see a host of colourful and comical characters based on British history take to the stage. Family-friendly, the show has been specially designed with a seasonal theme for both children and adults to enjoy.
The long-running live performance is from the wildly successful educational entertainment enterprise Horrible Histories, a franchise that also produces magazines, Books and TV shows.
The stage adaptation was written by Neal Foster, Terry Deary and Ciaran McConville. It is directed by Foster, and produced and performed by the Birmingham Stage Company. Theatre production companies often use poster printing to advertise their productions to members of the public.
Foster commented on the show:
“We start with the Celts and end up in the Victorian period... Children love all the gory, naughty, the silly, the rude and disgusting and we make sure it's full of all that... We bring history to life.”
A host of royal figures have been known to make an appearance in the shows in the past, including Elizabeth I and Queen Victoria, along with more nefarious characters like Burke and Hare.
Horrible Histories Live – Horrible Christmas will take place on Tuesday, December 22 at the Royal Bath & West Showground.
