The singer/songwriter Matt Owens and his band The Delusional Vanity Project (shortened to ‘The D.V.P.) are due to play a gig in Bath towards the end of July.
Owens first attracted public attention as one of the original founders of Noah and the Whale. They released four albums and had considerable UK success as well as abroad. The band sold more than a million UK records and toured extensively from 2006 to 2014.
In 2019, he released his debut solo album titled Whiskey and Orchids. Maverick Magazine gave it a five-star rating and he subsequently performed at 25 or more festivals, most notably Glastonbury. The follow-up Scorched Earth was made the weekly album by many BBC radio shows. He also co-wrote Elles Bailey's hit Sunshine City.
Owens’ long-awaited third album was recorded with The Delusional Vanity Project, his new seven-piece live outfit, and he is now touring it. Award-winning Americana singer Robert Vincent is part of the ensemble, and will also be the support act for the upcoming tour.
Tickets cost £15 in advance or £17 at the door. Flyer printing can be an effective way of publicising a forthcoming concert or musical event like this one.
Matt Owens and The D.V.P.'s gig has a starting time of 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 21 at Chapel Arts Centre in Bath.
