Bath to celebrate literary legend's life

The world-renowned Jane Austen Festival is to be held in Bath in the middle of September.

Austen is internationally acknowledged for her contribution to the canon of English Literature. This now represents the most important and longest-running festival of its type, having grown both in stature and popularity ever since its inception in 2001.

The festival was initially held over a single weekend but has developed into a 10-day feast of events. These attract more than 3500 attendees from countries all around the globe and are keenly anticipated right across the year.

The Regency Costumed Promenade marks the start of the festivities when the city is populated by in excess of 500 participants all wearing period clothes. Indeed, it is recognised by Guinness as the World Record holder for the biggest such gathering of its kind, anywhere.

Over the duration of the festival, guests can experience a selection of events that take their inspiration from Jane Austen's works. These include organised walking tours, a series of costumed balls, food fayres, theatre productions and specialist talks.

Tickets for individual events vary in price but some are free. Brochure printing can be useful when it comes to the presentation of information to the public about a cultural or community activity.

The Jane Austen Festival will take place between Friday 13th September and Sunday 22nd September in Bath.
