Bath set to host country music group

The American country/rock outfit The Mavericks are on tour and due to play a gig in Bath at the beginning of September.

The Mavericks formed in Florida in 1989, emerging out of Miami's post-punk indie scene. The band signed to MCA Nashville in 1991, releasing their first album From Hell To Paradise. Initial 90s chart hits and critical praise were followed by a lengthy break from 2003, and then a successful reunion in 2012.

The group have received many awards, including CMA Vocal Group of the Year in both 1995 and 1996, as well as the 1996 Grammy for Best Duo/Group with Vocals. Indeed, their recording of Blue Moon appeared in the 1995 movie Apollo 13 and the single Dance The Night Away reached number four on the UK charts.

Fronted by lead singer and songwriter Raul Malo, The Mavericks have sold out London’s Royal Albert Hall and conducted tours of Japan, South America, Europe and North America. Their recent 30th-anniversary celebrations coincided with a new album release, En Español.

Tickets for the upcoming performance in Bath range in price from £29.50 and £40.00 and are subject to a booking fee. Poster printing can be an effective way of publicising a forthcoming concert or musical event such as this.

The Mavericks’ gig has a starting time of 7.30pm on Friday, 9th September at The Forum, Bath.
