Bath set to host a Virtuoso musician

The highly respected English composer and guitarist Gordon Giltrap is on tour, and due to perform a gig in Bath at the end of January.

This original and innovative musical artist has been involved in the business for more than five decades. His acoustic guitar playing combines classical styles with progressive rock and jazz fusion. Those he has worked with include names such as Brian May, John Entwistle and Midge Ure.

Giltrap’s eminence is largely thanks to his dedicated approach to his craft and devotion to the audience. This was recently recognised with the award of an MBE in 2019's New Year's Honours, citing his contributions to Music and Charity.

He will be performing a selection of his tracks personally arranged in this solo acoustic set. Fans can look forward to hearing classics such as 'Lucifer's Cage' and 'Heartsong' together with new songs taken from his last album release 'Scattered Chapters'. Giltrap will also be explaining the history of different guitars.

The support on this occasion is provided by the singer and songwriter Carrie Martin.
