The message from the BNESRSG came in the aftermath of some tragic incidents in Bath waterways. There have been several fatalities on the River Avon and several of the accidental deaths have happened following socialising. BNESRSG does look at what more can be done to promote health and safety. A Print company in Bath could be used to craft appropriate communications if required.
Martin Veal is the councillor who is responsible for the community. He is part of the river safety organisation. Councillor Veal advised:
“At this time of year when people are out enjoying themselves, particularly at night time, we would remind them to think about their journey home. Take a licenced taxi if you have been drinking and if you are walking, stay with your friends.”
Rob Seaman is a water rescue expert and works for the Avon Fire and Rescue Service. He commented on the great atmosphere in Bath. However, he reminded people to take care when they are having fun, especially if they are in close proximity to water. Furthermore, he stressed how cold the water can be.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents backs the BNESRSG. The police, the Canal and Rivers Trust and the Environment Agency are all represented within the organisation.Get a Free Quote for Print
