The rock musician Rick Wakeman is bringing his new 'Yuletide Christmas Show' to Bath in mid-December.
This classical pianist didn't complete his studies at the Royal College of Music, opting instead for a career in popular music. His big break came when he joined Strawbs, and then went on to work with an array of artists as diverse as Cilla Black, David Bowie, Dana, Lou Reed, Edison Lighthouse and Elton John.
The new show marks a change in format from Rick's normal solo Yuletide concerts. He will be accompanied on stage by guests Adam Wakeman, himself on keyboards and vocalist Mollie Marriott, having previously appeared together on one of his many tours.
It is a keyboard-orientated stage show that includes the presence of the grandest of pianos with the additional musicians affording Rick greater scope in terms of performance material. The playlist combines new and old tracks as well as festive songs, all complimented by audience involvement.
Those in attendance can anticipate humour between the Wakemans, exceptional vocals from Mollie and an entertaining time all around.
