Bath Carnival invites attendees to express themselves

The 2019 Bath Carnival will be celebrated later this summer and the theme has been revealed as “express yourself”.

The largest city in Somerset will once more play host to the single-day event at the Sydney Gardens in Bath, which are the last remaining pleasure gardens from the 18th century in England.

The carnival is planning the largest street procession it has ever seen and will be using sound systems and multiple musicians supplying a soundtrack for more than 1,000 dancers.

There are plenty of other activities planned for the occasion, which has been dubbed “Bath’s biggest party” from club nights for the dance crowd to family-friendly workshops where kids can get involved with arts and crafts.

The carnival works in conjunction with schools via a programme which allows kids to sign up and learn a versatile selection of new skills such as costume design, drumming and dance, in masterclasses made just for them.

Cities promoting carnivals and major events can employ the use of specialist flyer printing services to announce the occasion to the community and ensure a good turnout.

The Bath Carnival offers internships that invite volunteers to gain hands on experience in event management, photography and creative writing.

The award-winning carnival is sponsored by Arts Council England, Avon Valley and Fielden Clegg Bradley studios among others. The 2019 Bath Carnival will take place on Saturday, July 13.
