The folk duo Jacob & Drinkwater, with support from Natalie Holmes, is due to play a gig in Bath towards the end of September.
Based in the South West, they got together in 2014 and first performed in public at the Glastonbury Festival. Tobias Ben Jacob is a singer-songwriter who plays the guitar, with Lukas Drinkwater, a producer, on bass and vocals. The combo has been compared to that of Danny Thompson and John Martyn.
Their indie release The Burning Low EP surfaced in 2015 and received considerable airplay nationwide, as well as positive reviews from Amazing Radio and Radio 2’s Folk Show. The following year they recorded the album ‘Live at Hope Hall’ in Exeter in front of a sell-out crowd.
The duo has also featured at festivals in the UK and across Europe, and appeared at London’s historic Union Chapel. Indeed, their 2019 ‘This Old River’ tour proved to be their biggest and most successful so far.
The album ‘More Notes from the Field’, was written during the Covid-19 lockdown and came out in October 2021. It explores the bond of friendship.
Tickets cost £10.50 inclusive of a booking fee. Flyer printing can be a useful way of publicising a forthcoming show or musical event.
Jacob & Drinkwater's gig has a starting time of 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 22 at The Chapel Arts Centre, Bath.
