Antiques trail promoted in Somerset

An antiques trail that runs through a small Somerset town received a boost recently as a number of leaflets were produced to promote the event.

Crewkerne, a small town nestled in the hills of Somerset, is home to a concentration of antique shops. These shops, which display everything from furniture and ornaments to art, attract a number of visitors to the town each year. The trail was devised as a way of attracting more people to the region and to allow the area to showcase its rich history and heritage.

Anthony Buke, the owner of the Antiques Warehouse in Crewkerne, had the idea to promote the antiques trail. Anthony and a number of other businesses in the town clubbed together to raise funds for leaflets to be produced by a professional printing company.

South Somerset Council added top-up funding, allowing the group to produce 30,000 Copies of the leaflet using flyer printing. Bath and Somerset residents and tourists can now easily find out about the trail and are more likely to visit Crewkerne as a result.

The leaflet has been added to the Tourist Information Centre at the Crewkerne Town Hall to ensure it gets maximum exposure to those looking for inspiration for their day out in the area.

This promotional activity also ties in with the work which is done by Crewkerne Town Team, an organisation that has been tasked with attracting new traders to the town as well as regenerating and rejuvenating the area.
