Work of Basingstoke artist to be used for luxury wallpaper

The work of a graphic artist from Hampshire has been chosen as part of a competition to find new designs for a high-end wallpaper range.

Kev Munday, from Basingstoke, was picked from a pool of 24 entrants by design writer Barbara Chandler, who was asked to curate the selection for Graham and Brown.

The idea behind the New Wave range is to celebrate Britain’s artistic output by showcasing the work of different creative around the country.

Describing the new wallpaper options which will soon be available, Kev, who works from the Proteus Creation Space on Council Road, said:

“The concept of the range is to bring to the mass-market an unparalleled collection of original design, which people up and down the land, and indeed all over the world, can easily access in big stores and smaller specialists and, crucially, can afford.”

He went on to say that it is likely to be the first instance of such ground-breaking designs finding their way to the mainstream market at such reasonable prices.

The designs have yet to be released and will not be seen by the public until the official launch in January 2014. They will then go on sale in more than 70 countries worldwide, with Homebase and B&Q stocking them across the UK.

When it comes to showcasing new product ranges, Hampshire businesses often rely on the services of established Print companies in Basingstoke, as they can provide expert brochure printing services at a reasonable cost.
